Regulated First Aid Courses in Cwmbran and across South Wales

Emergency Adult and Paediatric First Aid Qualification

This qualification is a combination of the Emergency First Aid at Work course (Adult First Aid) and the Emergency Paediatric First Aid (First Aid for age 18 and under).

This 1-day course combines basic life support treatment for both Adults and Children, as well as treatment for common injuries and conditions. This is designed for anyone who requires the basic first aid skills as part of their role. This course is the minimum required for workplaces to meet their legal obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Health & Safety First Aid Regulations 1981 and provide their staff with first aid provisions as a designated emergency first aider. It also meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Frameworks as well as the Welsh Government: National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for children up to the age of 12 years.


Course Content:

  • CPR sequence for adult, child, and infant (including the use of a defibrillator)
  • Unconscious adult, child and infant
  • Choking adult, child and infant
  • Bleeds
  • Embedded objects
  • Life-threatening bleeding
  • Bruises
  • Stings and bites
  • Human and animal bites
  • Splinters
  • Burns
  • Shock
  • Seizures

  • Regulated by Ofqual at Level 3 and Accredited by SQA Accreditation at Level 6

  • Endorsed by CIMSPA, with 3.5 CPD points

Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification

The one-day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification will teach you how to deal with emergency situations and administer general first aid treatment, and is designed for people who appointed as a designated first aider in the workplace.

The course is ideal for those that are required to hold a first aid qualification but don’t require the more comprehensive First Aid at Work qualification, and covers all the main workplace first aid situations you may need to deal with, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, bleeding and wounds, along with other minor injuries.

Paediatric Emergency First Aid Qualification

If you’re a nursery nurse or childminder where being first aid qualified is a legal requirement of your job, or you’re just a parent or carer who simply wants peace of mind – the one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid Award qualification is perfect for you.

On the course you will learn how to deal with a wide range of first aid situations within an early years setting including: managing an unresponsive casualty, paediatric CPR, choking, shock, bleeding and wounds, along with other minor injuries.

Adult and Paediatric First Aid Qualification

This qualification is a combination of the 3-day First Aid at Work course (Adult First Aid) and the 2-day Paediatric First Aid (First Aid for age 18 and under). No previous experience is required, so you can begin your first aid training whenever you need to!

This course is a 3-day course, 1-day online (at learners' convenience) and 2-days face-to-face. The online learning modules are to be completed prior to attending the course. 


This course meets the requirements for workplaces to meet their legal obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Health & Safety First Aid Regulations 1981 and provide their staff with first aid provisions as a designated first aider. It also meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Frameworks as well as the Welsh Government: National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for children up to the age of 12 years.

New guidance regarding safer eating for children (Department for Education) requires a person/staff member with this qualification to be present when children are eating.

This course is full of basic life support, as well as a wide variety of treatments for injuries and conditions, such as fractures and dislocations, poisoning, anaphylaxis and the use of an Adrenaline Auto-Injector, head injuries, heat conditions, heart attack, stroke, and many more.

First Aid at Work Revalidation

The two-day First Aid at Work Revalidation course is perfect for those that already hold a previous three-day certificate that is still valid and wish to extend their certificate for another 3 years.
